A Picture of Progress

Skiing, avalanche training, skiing, college applications, trip preparations, yoga, skiing.  One application pretty much done, like 6 or so to go!  If you hadn’t guessed, I’ve been trying to go cross-country skiing once every day… the conditions have been absolutely awesome and fast.  Spending a minimum of one hour outside every single day really makes me constantly appreciate living here, not to mention being in the moment (if you’re not in the moment, you’re going to fall on your face).  Pictures of avalanche training are yet to come – I thought I’d make a short update with a portrait my grandpa asked me to take of him after his third surgery.  Don’t worry, this picture serves as proof of the immense progress he’s made.  Four surgeries over and done, he’s now healing well, in the rehabilitation unit at Alaska Regional, and bears little resemblance to the photograph I took a few weeks ago.  Thank goodness! :)
